A Jet Fan will force hot air right out of your attic. It is a proven and reliable way to remove hot or damp air from your attic. It only runs when attic conditions require it. The Jet Fan only requires a minimum of intake ventilation (560 square inches for the Model JF 727) in the form of eave vents, roof vents, ridge vents or louvered attic wall vents. It does not rely on magical arrays of intake and exhaust venting that may not even work when conditions are perfect. When the Jet Fan comes on, hot, humid air is exhausted and physically forced out causing intake by drawing in cooler, dryer air from outside through whatever vents you already have. There is just no comparing the air flow difference with passive static vent systems.
Jet Fan builds and sells attic fans nationwide and installs attic fans in the Chicago area and has installed around 15,000 attic fans since 1983. The Partnership has learned a lot about attic fans and uses that wisdom when building what they call, “The Worlds Best Attic Fan”. The Jet Fan is simple and by using high-quality components, it can:
- save homeowners up to 30% on their cooling bills
- with an optional humidistat, keeps attics dry all year
- lengthen roof life by keeping shingles cooler
- add resale value to your home
- and do it most silently and without any trouble
Jet Fans are built to survive high winds. They’re all metal and rust proof with a thick spun aluminum dome held by stainless steel bolts that don’t leave rust stains streaking down your roof and a heavy metal wider aluminum flashing that will never leak. The truly heavy-duty screen actually stops surprise attacks from birds or squirrels trying to get into your attic. All the Jet Fan components are American made. The Jet Fan electric motor is quieter and oiling is optional, has thermal protection for added safety, and has a capacitor for added life and efficiency, in fact the Jet Fan takes only half the power that other comparable attic fans consume while moving more air. An accurate snap action thermostat (included) turns the Jet Fan on and off automatically and a firestat (included) shuts the fan off in the event of a home fire. Higher quality parts are what make the Jet Fan better and maintenance free. Jet Fan’s limited warranty, covers 100% of the cost of parts for 2 years and is pro-rated from installation date down to 0% at ten years; however, we level the discount for parts at 8 years at a 15% discount for as long as you own the home where the fan was originally installed in case you ever need a replacement part.” If you live in the Chicago area and we install it for you the same warranty discounts apply to the required labor that we perform for you.
The Jet Fan can also help when there is an unexplained humidity problem in the attic. Humidity can cause frost and ice to accumulate on the roof-framing members and eventually cause mold, mildew and rot to damage your home’s framing. An optional humidistat turns the fan on and off regardless of temperature whenever the relative humidity is too high in the attic
Jet Fans come in two different sizes. The Jet Fan model JF 727 covers up to 2300 square feet of attic floor, and the Jet Fan model JF 747 up to 3200 square feet. For efficiency, bigger is not necessarily better. Be sure to check your intake ventilation so your attic ventilation system is balanced with maximum cross-flow through the attic.
