Control your attic fan automatically with this higher quality snap-action thermostat switch. The firestat feature shuts the fan off in the event of a home fire where the fan would come on because there’s a fire and “fan” the flames. Firestat feature shuts the fan off permanently so it’s safer than other thermostats. 90 to 100 degrees is the recommended setting for this adjustable Therm-O-Disc brand thermostat / firestat combination. This switch is intended to run your existing attic fan (not whole house fan) in un-heated ventilated spaces, not finished rooms. This simple mechanical switch will naturally go back to work when the power comes back on after a power outage. Regardless of the humidity this switch will, run your attic fan only when there is excess heat in your attic and allow for a humidistat (not included, listed separately) to run your fan when your attic’s humidity is too high. Set the fan “off” temperature between 60 and 120 degrees F. (90 degrees F. is recommended) The “on” temperature is 10 degrees higher.
